Elle + Dave – Stewart Creek Canmore Wedding
Elle and Dave chose to say their vows in front of 100 of their closest humans that joined them from near and far. Elle’s parents and sister flew in from the Phillipines, her sister from Montreal and her brother from the UK along with a wonderful community of friends that joined them from their home in Edmonton + Camrose. Both their families were so warm and welcoming all day and truly made sure I was taken care of.
Their day was effortlessly laid back and low key, fitting to their personalities so well. It started off with the two of them getting ready separately – Dave quite quickly and sweatily as his morning golf game ran late. Elle and Dave chose to see each other for their first time privately, looking towards one of their favourite hikes, Ha Ling Peak. Dave couldn’t help but have the cutest reaction to seeing his beautiful bride for the first time.
Their ceremony and reception took place at one of my favourite venues, Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club. With the incredible mountain landscape as the backdrop to their sweet vows, everyone was in tears as Elle and Dave cried, and laughed and committed to one another for forever.
Dave had confided in me earlier that morning that he had planned a special surprise for Elle. After dinner we snuck off for some sunset portraits at the first tee box. Little did Elle know while we danced around and took in the breathtaking sunset her favourite artist Michael Bernard Fitzgerald was waiting to sing them their first dance. Elle + Dave had told me previously how big of a role Michael Bernard Fitzgerald had played in their love story, having so many big milestones marked by his concerts and music. As you can see she had the best reaction!
The next day we ventured up to look out to Peyto Lake together. It was important to Elle and Dave to have a traditional wedding with their families but their hearts also called them to adventure, just the two of them. I absolutely love day after sessions, that chance to throw your dress on again, a little more relaxed as Elle wore her hair in a simple and chic pony. It was all about the moments and mountains as we climbed over rocks, Elle faced her fear of heights and we made friends with some cute ground squirrels! Check out their Day After Session in the slideshow!
